There are plenty of great holiday destinations in Spain. But few match the climate and unique attractions of Lanzarote – the fourth largest of the Canary Islands. Which is situated some way south of the Iberian Peninsula in the Atlantic Ocean. Just off the cost of Morocco.
Along with the rest of the Canaries Lanzarote was once thought to be part of the mythical Lost Continent of Atlantis. But today it is one of the most popular holiday locations in Spain. Welcoming around 1.5 million tourists every year.

There are also seven unique visitor attractions to explore – all of which were created during the 1970´s and 80´s by the islands favourite son – César Manrique. And which feature all of his trademark touches such as water features, white washed walls and tropical gardens. Other key sights include the island´s many pretty little villages. So it’s best to just hire a car and get out and explore.
Getting to Lanzarote
Flights to Lanzarote from the UK take around four hours – and are currently cheaper then ever thanks to the arrival on the scene of Ryanair. Who have recently been offering returns from as little as £10. Services to the island are available from all of the main airports in the UK. Whilst the island is also very popular with visitors from Germany, Holland and Eire as well.
